Flora Europaea the original Linnean specimen perennial, Ch, 2n=16, diploid mesic to mesoxeric meadow-steppe grassland species, usually in the forest-steppe areas western Eurasian Molinio-Arrhenatheretea, Cirsio-Brachypodion, Geranion sanguinei, Quercetea pubescentis R37, R38 habitats from the forest-steppe and lower nemoral belt   A mesic grassland species typical for the meadow-steppe habitats.
